About the Programme The Village School Scholars Programme (VSSP) is a flagship education-support initiative of the Benue Entrepreneurs Empowerment Network (BEEN), designed to ensure that no child is denied an education because of poverty, loss, or circumstance. In many rural communities across Benue State, children—especially those who have lost one or both parents—are forced out of school simply because basic tuition fees cannot be paid. VSSP intervenes at this critical point by identifying vulnerable pupils and students and providing direct school-fee support that keeps them learning, growing, and hopeful. Each child supported through VSSP is more than a statistic. They are a future leader, teacher, entrepreneur, or changemaker whose journey is safeguarded through timely intervention and collective compassion. Program Officer/Program Coordinator
Program Officer/Program Coordinator Raphael Nyagh serves as a Program Officer at BEEN, where he plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting the organization’s various entrepreneurship, empowerment, and reintegration initiatives. A graduate of Public Administration, Raphael brings strong organizational skills, policy understanding, and a deep commitment to community development. At BEEN, he is responsible for planning program activities, engaging with local communities and stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth execution of field projects. He also supports monitoring and evaluation efforts by tracking progress and documenting impact stories from beneficiaries across Benue State. Raphael’s dedication to grassroots transformation and effective public service makes him an essential member of the BEEN team, bridging planning with on-the-ground impact.
Strategy and Policy Coordinator
Strategy and Policy Coordinator Kaha Aondoyila Cornelius serves as the Strategy and Policy Coordinator at BEEN, where he provides strategic direction and policy insight across all of the organization’s initiatives. With a background in Political Science and a passion for development impact, Kaha brings a unique mix of academic understanding, field experience, and creative problem-solving to the role. He is responsible for leading BEEN’s strategic planning processes, aligning programs with national development priorities, and shaping policies that drive long-term impact — particularly in areas like youth empowerment, microenterprise development, and social reintegration. His work also involves tracking public policy trends, engaging with government and civil society partners, and developing frameworks that ensure BEEN remains responsive and future-focused. Kaha’s ability to translate vision into actionable frameworks makes him a critical driver of BEEN’s mission to build an empowered and economically vibrant Benue State.

Director Health and Human Capital Development Dr. Evelyn Erdoo Orya is a highly accomplished public health physician and Fellow of the West African College of Physicians with a Master’s in International Public Health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), UK. As Director of Health & Human Capital Development at Benue Entrepreneur Empowerment Network (BEEN), she leads the organization’s strategic efforts to integrate health, wellness, and human development into entrepreneurship empowerment across Benue State. Her leadership ensures that BEEN not only equips entrepreneurs with business tools but also supports their physical, mental, and social well-being — recognizing that sustainable economic growth is inseparable from public health and human capacity.
